The LabelStream LS2000 is a five-color (CMYK plus white) inkjet label press that prints at speeds of up to 40 m/min with a maximum printing width of 340 mm. It features a Canon-developed 2400 x 1200 dpi printhead equipped with an ink circulation mechanism that keeps the ink moving along a precise flow path to the tips of all the nozzles, which is designed to help minimize nozzle failure caused by clogging. To support reliable, stable production, nozzle checks and sensors help the press determine if printhead maintenance is required. Certain quality control features, including color measurement and adjustment, can also be automated. Furthermore, the digital front end integrates tightly with workflows to promote ease of use and operational efficiency.
The new high-density, water-based polymer inks in the LabelStream LS2000 inkjet label press have been developed specifically for Canon’s new printhead. These specialized inks contain highly saturated pigments that deliver a wide color gamut while forming a thin layer on the substrate. This helps reduce the scattering of light, supporting accurate color reproduction. White ink capability comes standard and enables printing on transparent film and other media—serving as a white base, which can be used as an undercoat for other inks for vivid and clear color printing. The LabelStream LS2000 inks are well-suited for a broad range of applications.
Labels used on the exterior of everyday items—from personal care to household products—are often produced in small batches with fast delivery times due to shorter product lifecycles.
