Service Notice: Mistaken Origin Displayed on Packaging of Optional Interface Cables
Update
To Owners of the Optional Interface Cables for EOS-1D Series Digital SLR Cameras and the Cover for Motor Drive Coupler for EOS-1 Series SLR Cameras:
Thank you for using Canon products. We have discovered an error in the "country/region of origin" displayed on the packaging of the optional interface cables IFC-200D4, IFC-450D4, IFC-200D44, and IFC-450D44 for digital SLR cameras and the optional motor drive coupler cover E1 for film SLR cameras, all of which are sold separately. Related details regarding this matter are outlined below. We offer our sincerest apologies to all customers who have been inconvenienced by this problem. To ensure that similar mistakes do not occur in the future, we will make every effort to achieve thorough quality control processes and hope that our efforts will earn your understanding.

Details
Although the four interface cables are manufactured in the People's Republic of China and the motor drive coupler covers are manufactured in Taiwan, the "country/region" appearing on the packaging for the all of these separately sold products is mistakenly listed as Japan. To ensure that similar mistakes do not occur in the future, Canon will make every effort to achieve thorough control processes. The products in question were manufactured to meet the high quality standards required for all Canon genuine products and can be used with confidence.
