DP3D
Dual Pixel 3D is an easy-to-use solution designed for compatible EOS R Series cameras that delivers a 3D imaging experience without the need for specialized shooting equipment. By leveraging depth and phase-detection data captured in a single shot via Dual Pixel CMOS AF, the software uses an exclusive algorithm to convert your photos into highly realistic 3D imagery in OBJ or GLB formats, or as an MP4 video, complete with rich photographic textures. Whether you are an advanced amateur photographer wanting to experience your shots with a lifelike texture or running an E-Commerce site, this is an excellent way to showcase products, offering a much simpler, lower-cost, and faster workflow than traditional 3D scanning or photogrammetry options. Dual Pixel 3D seamlessly bridges the gap between high-quality 2D photography and three-dimensional creativity.
Software will be available for download starting October 8, 2026

How It Works
Step 1: Shoot Your Photos on a compatible EOS R series Camera
Generating a high-quality 3D model relies heavily on capturing a sharp image. Dual Pixel 3D Converter leverages the depth and phase-detection data from a single photo. You will need to set your aperture to F5.6 or lower. This keeps your subject within the depth of field to avoid blur, but do not exceed F8, as values greater than F8 will result in a 3D conversion error. You will also need to shoot at ISO 1600 or lower to minimize noise.
Step 2: Import Your Images into the Software
Launch the Dual Pixel 3D Converter application on a compatible Windows PC and start importing your images. Select your target image from the thumbnail browser on the left.
Step 3: Configure 3D Model Settings
Utilize the "3D Model Settings" tab to customize how your asset is generated. You can adjust how intense you want the 3D effect to appear here.
Step 4: Export and Enjoy Your 3D Creation
Click one of the export buttons at the bottom of the screen depending on how you plan to use your file, either as a 3D file (OBJ or GLB format) which you can then open and edit in your preferred 3D editing software, or as an MP4 video file.
Step 5: How do I Enjoy my 3D Creation?
Well, the sky is the limit here, you can easily utilize MP4 videos to highlight a product on your website or social media platforms to show more depth than a 2D image can, or how about a breathtaking visual in a PowerPoint presentation of a product you are still developing? Or, use the 3D file as a starting point to build something entirely new. The best part of all of this is how quickly you can generate interactive imagery with just a few more steps than that of taking a picture!
