Sound Recording with Line Input
Sound Recording with Line Input
The EOS-1D C now accepts a line-level audio input via its mini 3.5mm connector, for users who want to use an optional outboard mixing console, for example, or a high-output microphone. In Line Input mode the standard input level is -8 dBV* with peaks up to +6 dBV. To accommodate different external sources, sound-recording levels are adjustable at 64 step levels.
* Distortion ratio may increase if the signal exceeds the standard input level of -8 dBV.

Peripheral Lens Correction for Cinema Lenses
Cinema Lenses that benefit from the new firmware apdate comprise
• CN-E15.5–47mm T2.8 L S   • CN-E50mm T1.3 L F
• CN-E30–105mm T2.8 L S   • CN-E85mm T1.3 L F
• CN-E14mm T3.1 L F   • CN-E135mm T2.2 L F
• CN-E24mm T1.5 L F
The new factory update for the EOS-1D C adds Peripheral Illumination Correction* under the Lens Aberration Correction menu for select Canon Cinema Lenses. By maintaining even illumination from corner to corner of each image frame, Peripheral Lens Correction virtually eliminates vignetting and other unevenness of light across the sensor, using specific lens characteristics such as focal length, aperture and distance settings.
* Lens aberration correction with Canon Cinema lenses requires the latest version of EOS Utility, which will be available mid-October 2013.
Certain images and effects simulated.
Peripheral Lens Correction for New EF & Cinema Lenses
Cinema Lenses that benefit from the new firmware apdate comprise
• CN-E15.5–47mm T2.8 L S   • CN-E50mm T1.3 L F
• CN-E30–105mm T2.8 L S   • CN-E85mm T1.3 L F
• CN-E14mm T3.1 L F   • CN-E135mm T2.2 L F
• CN-E24mm T1.5 L F
The factory update also adds Chromatic Aberration Correction* under the Lens Aberration Correction menu for select Canon Cinema Lenses to help minimize color fringing in areas of an image that contain high-contrast color elements. It also helps reduce color bleeding, which often is more noticeable at picture edges and, as a result, can degrade perceived image quality.

Color fringing is a common pitfall of digital image capture when certain colors are not focused correctly through the lens at the exact point on the camera's sensor, but can be corrected at the time of shooting with this feature.
* Lens aberration correction with Canon Cinema lenses requires the latest version of EOS Utility, which will be available mid-October 2013.
Certain images and effects simulated.
