More than almost any other industry, healthcare organizations are required to keep patient records and information private. Canon offers a range of solutions that help safeguard documents and data in your efforts to facilitate compliance with HIPAA and other regulations, without impacting the quality of care you deliver.
Canon offers a flexible range of solutions that can support leading card and password-based access systems. You can easily add your imageRUNNER ADVANCE system to your existing security solution or create a new one based on your own requirements.
Every day, your staff may print documents that may contain personal healthcare information that shouldn't be left out in the open. Canon Secured Print, Encrypted Secure Print, and uniFLOW Secure Printing require users to authenticate at a device before a sensitive file is released for print.
Many healthcare organizations remain heavily reliant on e-mail and fax workflows - particularly for communicating with labs, pharmacies, and insurance companies. Your staff could easily make a mistake and send confidential information to an incorrect address. Canon solutions enable you to set your devices to allow faxes and e-mails to authorized destinations or domains only. You can also limit employees to only using specific address books and prevent employees from adding new addresses or types of addresses to your device.
Today's multifunction devices feature hard drives that often store confidential data. When retiring or removing a device, you can use the HDD Format feature to completely overwrite any information left on the drive. With the HDD Data Erase Kit you can also set your imageRUNNER ADVANCE device to overwrite its hard disk as part of routine job processing. And the HDD Data Encryption Kit uses AES 256-bit encryption to protect all data stored on the internal disk drive.
The optional imageRUNNER Removable HDD Kit enables administrators to physically remove the device's internal hard disk so it can be locked down in a secure place after hours. The drive can then easily be reinstalled for use during normal working hours.
