Receive data scanned by a multi-function device on mobile terminals.

About the Scan Functions

Taking Photographs
Photographs taken by cameras can be uploaded to mobile terminals.
The photograph data can be stored in the mobile terminal or cloud storage, and sent by email or printed.

Document Management
You can manage, email, and print files saved in your mobile terminal.
Also, you can print and/or download files saved in cloud storage.

Link to Canon Mobile Printing
Print images in a photo album or web pages.
Configure detailed print settings such as color mode, print range, 2-sided printing, and 2 on 1.

About the Print Functions

Search and Register Devices
Automatically or manually discover devices on a network, and register up to ten of them in a list.
Check the device status and display the Remote UI for the device.

Linking To External Apps (iPad only)
If you install Readiris in an iPad, you can extract text from scanned data and create text-searchable PDFs.

       About the Scan Functions  
      For imageRUNNER ADVANCE series
The data scanned at the device is transmitted to a mobile terminal.
If the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application is installed in the device you are using, the scan settings are configured at the mobile terminal. If it is not installed, configure the scan settings using the function.

       About the Print Functions  
      To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand.

You can access the Canon Mobile Printing download page by searching "Canon Mobile Printing" in the App Store.

  • For more information about the printing method, see "Printing Acquired Data" or "Using Local Documents."
  • For details about Canon Mobile Printing, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help.
  • If you use PIXMA/MAXIFY Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint, you can print data scanned using Canon Mobile Scanning for Business on a PIXMA series, MAXIFY series, or SELPHY series device. To find out about supported models, search "PIXMA/MAXIFY Printing Solutions" or "Canon Easy-PhotoPrint" in the App Store, and access the download page.
  • Depending on the file format of scanned data, you may not be able to use PIXMA/MAXIFY Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint.
 
       
       Getting Started  
      Check the network connection environment.
  • The mobile terminal must be connected to a wireless LAN access point.
  • The access point and the Canon device you are using must be connected by LAN or wireless LAN.
  • Confirm that the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile terminal are enabled.
  • Download Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later and install it.
 
       
       Selecting/Detecting the Device  
      Selecting the Device
The selected device is displayed at the bottom of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen.

To select or register an additional device, tap [] in the top right corner of the home screen → tap [Select Device] → search for the device in the [Select Device] screen.
  • Automatic Discovery of a Device on the Same Network
  • Manual Search by Specifying IP Address or DNS Name (FQDN)

NOTE
  • Tapping the detail icon in the [Select Device] screen enables you to confirm detailed device information. (→"Confirming Device Information")
  • If functions that can be used with the device cannot be used with this app, this might be improved by deleting the device then re-registering it. For information about deleting the device, see "Confirming Device Information."
  • Tapping [] or [] at the bottom of the home screen enables you to switch the selection.
  • If [Detect Device] is displayed at the bottom of the home screen, the device is not registered. Tapping [Detect Device] enables you to search for the device. Depending on the device model, you may need to update the firmware.
  • If [Enable Canon Mobile Scanning] at the device is set to [Off] when you update the firmware that supports this app, a message prompting you to update the firmware will be displayed when you register the device. When using this app, set [Enable Canon Mobile Scanning] to [On]. If there are no settings for [Enable Canon Mobile Scanning] in the device you are using, set [Dedicated Port Settings] to [On].

Automatic Discovery of a Device on the Same Network
NOTE
  • You can register up to ten devices in the [Select Device] screen list. If ten devices are already registered, perform a search after deleting a registered device. (→"Confirming Device Information")
  • Depending on the network environment to which the mobile terminal is connected, the device might not be discovered by [Select Device] - [Auto Search]. If this happens, enter the IP address of the device in [Manual Search]. If the device is still not discovered, check the network settings of the device, the wireless router, and the mobile terminal, or contact your network administrator.

1.In the [Select Device] screen, tap [Auto Search].

Discovered devices are displayed.
If the device you want to use is not displayed, follow the procedure "Manual Search by Specifying IP Address or DNS Name (FQDN)" below.

2.Select the device → tap [Add].
The device is registered in the [Select Device] screen list.

Manual Search by Specifying IP Address or DNS Name

NOTE
You can register up to ten devices in the [Select Device] screen list. If ten devices are already registered, perform a search after deleting a registered device. (→"Confirming Device Information")

1.In the [Select Device] screen, tap [Manual Search].

2.Enter the IP address or DNS name of the device you want to use → tap [OK].

To confirm the IP address of the device, see "How to Confirm the IP Address of the Device."
If you search by specifying a DNS, enter the host name or FQDN (format including host name, sub-domain name, and domain name) such as described in below.
When you cannot specify the device with a host name, enter the FQDN.
If the host name is "device01", the subdomain name is "aaa", and the domain name is "bbb.com":
device01.aaa.bbb.com

3.Select the device → tap [Add].
The device is registered in the [Select Device] screen list.
 
       
       Confirming Device Information  
      Tap [] in the top right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → tap [Select Device].
The [Select Device] screen is displayed.

[Select Device] Screen
Device List
The registered devices are displayed in list form.

The icon indicates the following content.
[]: Devices whose maximum paper width is A4/Letter.
Devices that do not have this icon can print larger paper sizes than A4/Letter.
[]/[]: Color/B&W printers.
[]: PDF direct printing compatible devices (devices equipped with PDF direct printing or the PS printing function, or with an optional HDD, ROM, or RAM attached)
[]: There is information from the device.
Display the Remote UI from the [Device Details] screen and check the information.

Changing the Device to Be Used
Tap the device name.

[Edit]
You can edit the list after tapping [Edit].
[]: Drag this to change the order.
[]: Tap this and tap [Delete] to delete the device from the list.
[] (Access Point)
Displays the wireless LAN connection state and access point SSID.

[Device Details] Screen
Tapping the detail icon in the [Select Device] screen enables you to check detailed information.

Displays the device status, [Device Name], [Product Name], [IP Address], and [MAC Address].

[Remote UI]
You can display the Remote UI for the device. When a [Check the details using the Remote UI.] message is displayed in [Scanner]/[Printer], tap [Remote UI] to check the information.

NOTE
  • To return to this app after displaying the Remote UI, tap [M Scanning] in the home screen of your mobile terminal.
  • Depending on the device, you might not be able to display the Remote UI from the mobile terminal. If this happens, check the status of the device at the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device.
  • If the Remote UI is displayed from the mobile terminal, you may not be able to use some functions such as file operations. If this happens, perform the operations from the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device.

You can access the Canon support site.
 
       
       Scanning (imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series)  
      You can operate the Canon multi-function device from the mobile terminal and capture the scanned data.

The Multi-function Device Operations
1. Set the original on the platen glass or feeder.
2. Press [Scan].
3. Press [] or [] to select → press [OK].

A remote scanner waiting (online) screen is displayed.

NOTE
Some device models enable you to set the scanner to go online automatically. If you set the device to go online automatically, steps 2 and 3 are unnecessary.

Mobile Terminal Operations
1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Scan].

3.In the [Scan] screen, configure the scan settings if required.

You can specify the [Original Placement], [Color], [Resolution], [Original Size], [File Format], and [2-Sided Original] settings.
If you are using an iPad, you can change the scan settings by tapping [ ] at the bottom of the screen.

NOTE
When scanning both sides of an original using a feeder, to align the orientation of even pages and odd pages, set [2-Sided Original] to match the binding direction of the original.
However, set [2-Sided Original] as follows when scanning landscape originals.
  • For book type double-sided originals with binding on the short edge: [Calendar Type]
  • For calendar type double-sided originals with binding on the long edge: [Book Type]

4.Tap [Scan].

Scanning starts.
If you scan from the platen glass, the confirmation screen is displayed in this app.
When you want to continue scanning: Set the original → Tap [Scan].
When you want to finish scanning: Tap [Done].
When scanning is finished, the scanned data is saved to the mobile terminal and a preview screen is displayed in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business.

You can perform the following operations on the scanned data.

  • Storing Acquired Data in Cloud Storage
  • Sending Acquired Data by Email
  • Printing Acquired Data
 
       
       Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)  
      You can receive data scanned in the Canon multi-function device on your mobile terminal.
You can configure scan settings and execute scanning from a mobile terminal by installing the free Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application on an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device.
Perform operations on the mobile terminal after starting the MEAP application from the touch panel display of the multi-function device.

NOTE
  • To use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application, you need to install Canon Mobile Scanning for Business Version 1.0.1 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. You can download the latest version of Canon Mobile Scanning for Business from the App Store.
  • The Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application should be installed by an administrator of the multi-function device. For details about the procedure for installing the application, refer to the support site. You can access the support site by tapping [App Support Site] in the help screen of this app.
  • If you set [On] for [Preferences] > [Network] > [TCP/IP Settings] > [Proxy Settings] at the multi-function device, scanning using Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application may not operate correctly. Configure scan settings using the function of the multi-function device if you cannot use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application. (→"Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series When Using the Function)")

The Multi-function Device Operations
1.Set the original on the platen glass or feeder of the multi-function device.
2.Press [Canon Mobile Scanning] on the touch panel display.

If the icon above is not displayed, press [Show All] in the Main Menu to change the display.

3.In the screen, confirm [Device Name] and [IP Address].
When operating from a mobile terminal, refer to the device name/IP address displayed in this screen.

Mobile Terminal Operations
1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.Confirm or select the multi-function device you are using in the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen.

Refer to the device name/IP address displayed in the screen of the multi-function device.
For details about the setting procedure, see "Selecting/Detecting the Device."

3.Tap [Scan].

NOTE
A message is displayed if the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application is not running on the multi-function device. If this happens, start the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application on the multi-function device, then tap [Continue].

4.In the [Scan] screen, configure the scan settings if required.

You can specify the [Color], [Resolution], [Original Size], [File Format], [2-Sided Original], [Original Type], and [Density] settings.
If you are using an iPad, you can change the scan settings by tapping [] at the bottom of the screen.

NOTE
  • If you set items that cannot be set simultaneously, a message prompting you to change the settings is displayed. If you tap [OK], the settings are changed.
  • Set the supported scan functions and file formats at the multi-function device. If you set unsupported functions and file formats, a message is displayed when scanning and scanning is canceled. If this happens, operation might be improved by decreasing the resolution or changing the file format in the scan settings.
  • When scanning both sides of an original using a feeder, to align the orientation of even pages and odd pages, set [2-Sided Original] to match the binding direction of the original. However, for devices that have [] displayed in the [Select Device] screen, set [2-Sided Original] as follows when scanning landscape originals.
    • For book type double-sided originals with binding on the short edge: [Calendar Type]
    • For calendar type double-sided originals with binding on the long edge: [Book Type]
  • If you set [Function Settings] > [Common] > [Generate File] > [OCR (Text Searchable) Settings] > [Smart Scan] on the multi-function device to [On] when selecting [PDF] - [OCR] or [OOXML (docx)] in [File Format] and scanning a double sided document, it may be scanned by a different method than when you set [2-Sided Original] in this app.

5.Tap [Scan].

If you scan from the platen glass, the confirmation screen is displayed at the control panel of the multi-function device.
When you want to continue scanning: Set the original → press [] (Start).
When you want to finish scanning: Press [Start Sending].
When scanning is finished, the scanned data is saved to the mobile terminal and a preview screen is displayed.
The method of previewing scanned data varies according to the file format.
JPEG/PDF: A preview is displayed in the preview screen.
TIFF/OOXML: A file icon is displayed.

NOTE
In an iPhone 4/4s/iPad 2/iPad mini (1st generation) with iOS 7.0 or later installed, data scanned in PDF format with 600 dpi resolution is not previewed. If you want to preview the scanned data, rescan with reduced resolution.

You can perform the following operations on the scanned data.
  • Storing Acquired Data in Cloud Storage
  • Sending Acquired Data by Email
  • Printing Acquired Data
 
       
       Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series When Using the (Scan and Send) Function)  
      You can receive scanned data on your mobile terminal using the (Scan and Send) function of the Canon multi-function device.
Use this function if you cannot use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application.

NOTE
  • If you install the free Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application in an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device, you can scan more simply and easily than by using the function. (→"Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)")
  • If you set [On] for [Preferences] > [Network] > [TCP/IP Settings] > [Proxy Settings] at the multifunction device, scanning using the function may not operate correctly.

Mobile Terminal Operations
1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Scan].

3.In the scan screen, check the host name in [Host Name].

When performing operations at the multi-function device, input the host name displayed in this screen.

The Multi-function Device Operations
1.Set the original on the platen glass or feeder.
2.Press [Scan and Send] → [New Destination].

3.Press [File].

4.In the screen, set the destination.
[Protocol]: Select [WebDAV].
[Host Name]: Enter the host name displayed in the [Scan] screen of Canon Mobile Scanning for Business.

5.Press [OK].
Change the scan settings if required.

NOTE
  • If you register settings in the Quick Menu when scanning, you can recall the registered settings later by simply pressing the button you have assigned them. (→"Registering Settings to the Device Quick Menu (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series When Using the Function)")
  • In Canon Mobile Scanning for Business, some scan settings may not be applied. (→"About the Scan Functions")
  • The default setting of the WebDAV port number is "80". You can change the port number. (→"Setting the WebDAV Port")
  • If you changed the port number, when setting the host name on the control panel of the multi-function device, enter the name including the new port number. (→"Setting the WebDAV Port")
    If the IP address is "192.168.0.xxx" and the new port number is "8008": http://192.168.0.xxx:8008/

6.Press [] (Start).
Scanning starts.
When scanning is finished, the scanned data is saved to the mobile terminal and a preview screen is displayed in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business.
The method of previewing scanned data varies according to the file format.
JPEG/PDF: A preview is displayed in the preview screen.
TIFF/OOXML/XPS: A file icon is displayed.

NOTE
In an iPhone 4/4s/iPad 2/iPad mini (1st generation) with iOS 7.0 or later installed, data scanned in PDF format with 600 dpi resolution or in Encrypted PDF format is not previewed. If you want to preview the scanned data, rescan with reduced resolution and without encryption.

You can perform the following operations on the scanned data.
  • Storing Acquired Data in Cloud Storage
  • Sending Acquired Data by Email
  • Printing Acquired Data
 
       
       Taking Photographs  
      You can activate the camera and take photographs from this app.
1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Camera].

3.Tap the shutter button to take a photograph.

The photograph you have taken is displayed.

4.If you want to use the photograph you have taken, tap [Use Photo].
If you want to retake the photograph, tap [Retake] and return to step 3.

The preview screen is displayed.
You can perform the following operations on the photograph data.
  • Storing Acquired Data in Cloud Storage
  • Sending Acquired Data by Email
  • Printing Acquired Data
 
       
       Storing Acquired Data in Cloud Storage  
      You can store data scanned by "Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)"/"Scanning (imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series)" or data taken by "Taking Photographs" in cloud storage.

1.In the preview screen, tap [].

2.Select the cloud storage you are using.
The folders in the cloud storage are displayed.

NOTE
If the cloud storage you are using as a storage destination is not displayed even if you tap [], tap [Account Settings] and set the account.

3.Select a folder and tap [Save].
The data is stored.
 
       
       Sending Acquired Data by Email  
      You can send data scanned by "Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)"/"Scanning (imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series)" or data taken by "Taking Photographs" by email.
In the preview screen, tap [].

An email application starts and the scan data file is attached to the new mail.

NOTE
You can set the default destination from [] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings] → [Send To]. It is useful If you send to the same e-mail address every time. (→"Setting the Default Email Destination")
 
       
       Printing Acquired Data  
      You can print data scanned by "Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)"/"Scanning (imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series)" or data taken by "Taking Photographs".

NOTE
To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. (→"About the Print Functions")

1.In the preview screen, tap [].
The [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.

2.Confirm or select the device you want to use.

The device selected in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business is displayed in [Printer].
If you cannot connect to the device, the device you previously selected in Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.
If you want to select another device, tap [Printer] → select a device → return to the [Preview] screen.

3.If required, tap the print settings → configure the required settings → return to the [Preview] screen.

4.In the [Preview] screen, tap [Print].

NOTE
  • Tapping the icon to return to the screen prior to the [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing, returns you to the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business screen without performing a printing.
  • For details about print setting procedures, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help or support site. You can access the support site by tapping [App Support Site] in the help screen of this app.
  • If you use PIXMA/MAXIFY Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint, you can print data scanned using Canon Mobile Scanning for Business on a PIXMA series, MAXIFY series, or SELPHY series device. To find out about supported printer models, search "PIXMA/MAXIFY Printing Solutions" or "Canon Easy-PhotoPrint" in the App Store, and access the download page.
    1. 1.In the preview screen, tap [ ].
      2.Tap [Open in] → select [Inkjet Print]/[Canon iEPP].
  • Depending on the file format of scanned data, you may not be able to use PIXMA/MAXIFY Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint.
 
       
       Using Local Documents  
      You can manage, link to an external app, upload to cloud storage, email, and print files stored in a mobile terminal.
In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Documents] → tap [Local] - [Images]/[Documents]/[Download].

A data list is displayed.
  • Scanned data/photographic data:
    • [Images] (JPEG/TIFF)/[Documents] (PDF/XPS/OOXML)
  • Data downloaded from cloud storage:
    • [Download]

Tapping the file name opens the preview screen.

NOTE
You can search for a file name in the search box.

Editing the Names of Files
1.Tap the Edit icon.
2.Select a file.
3.Tap [].
4.Tap [Rename].
5.Enter the file name.

Deleting Files
1.Tap the Edit icon.
2.Select the file to delete.
3.Tap [].
4.Tap [Delete].

NOTE
You can also delete all the files in a folder. Tap the Edit icon, then tap [] - [Delete All].

Uploading to Cloud Storage
1.Tap the Edit icon.
2.Select the file to be uploaded.
3.Tap [].
4.Select the cloud storage you are using.
The folders in the cloud storage are displayed.
5.Select a folder and tap [Save].
The data is stored.

NOTE
  • You can select up to 100 files at a time.
  • You can upload files previewed in the preview screen. In the preview screen, tap [] and select the cloud storage you are using.
  • If the cloud storage you are using as a storage destination is not displayed even if you tap [], tap [Account Settings] and set the account.

Opening with Readiris (iPad)
Readiris is an app that can extract text from scanned data (JPEG/PDF) and create a text-searchable PDF.
1.Tap the Edit icon.
2.Select the file to upload.
3.Tap [].
4.Tap [Open in Readiris].
The selected file is opened in Readiris.

NOTE
  • You can select up to 100 files at a time. In such cases, you can select only one file format: JPEG or PDF.
  • You can open files previewed in the preview screen in Readiris. In the preview screen, tap [Open in Readiris].

Emailing Files
1.Tap the Edit icon.
2.Select the file to send.
3.Tap [].
An email application starts and the scan data file is attached to the new mail.

NOTE
  • You can select up to 5 files at a time.
  • You can email files previewed in the preview screen. In the preview screen, tap [].
  • You can set the default destination from [] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings] → [Send To]. (→"Setting the Default Email Destination")

Printing Files
1.Tap the file name.
2.In the preview screen, tap [].
The [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.
3.Confirm or select the device you want to use.

The device selected in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business is displayed in [Printer].
If you cannot connect to the device, the device you previously selected in Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.
If you want to select another device, tap [Printer] → select a device → return to the [Preview] screen.

4.If required, tap the print settings → configure the required settings → return to the [Preview] screen.

5.In the [Preview] screen, tap [Print].

  • To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. (→"About the Print Functions")
  • Tapping the icon to return to the screen prior to the [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing, returns you to the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business screen.

       Using Cloud Storage  
      You can print and/or download files saved in cloud storage.
In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Documents].
To work with files in cloud storage, tap the cloud storage you are using.
When uploading files to cloud storage, do so from [Local] in the [Documents] screen. (→"Using Local Documents")

NOTE
  • Cloud storages that can be used with this version are as follows.
    • Dropbox
    • Google Drive
  • If the cloud storage you are using is not displayed, tap [Account Settings] and set the account.
  • You can search for file names in the search box of each cloud storage file list screen.

Downloading Files
1.In the [Documents] screen, tap the cloud storage you are using.
2.Tap the Edit icon.
3.Select the file to download.
4.Tap [].
5.Tap [Save in download folder].
The file is saved to [Local] - [Download].

NOTE
You can download files previewed in the preview screen. In the preview screen, tap [] - [Save in download folder].

Printing Files
1.In the [Documents] screen, tap the cloud storage you are using.
2.Select the file to be printed.
3.Tap [].
The [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.
4.Confirm or select the device you want to use.

The device selected in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business is displayed in [Printer].
If you cannot connect to the device, the device you previously selected in Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.
If you want to select another device, tap [Printer] → select a device → return to the [Preview] screen.

5.If required, tap the print settings → configure the required settings → return to the [Preview] screen.

6.In the [Preview] screen, tap [Print].

Logging Out From a Service
1.In the [Documents] screen, tap [Account Settings].
2.Tap the detail icon of the cloud storage to logout from.
3.Tap [Log Out].

 
       
       Printing Images/Web Pages  
      You can select and print images from Photo Albums. Also, you can display and print a web page.
1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Documents].

3.Tap [Print from Photo Albums] or [Print from Web].

The Canon Mobile Printing screen is displayed.

4.Select the image(s) you want to print, or display the web page.

5.Tap [Preview].

6.In the [Preview] screen, confirm or select the device you want to use.

The device selected in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business is displayed in [Printer].
If you cannot connect to the device, the device you previously selected in Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.
If you want to select another device, tap [Printer] → select a device → return to the [Preview] screen.

7.If required, tap the print settings → configure the required settings → return to the [Preview] screen.

8.In the [Preview] screen, tap [Print].

  • Tapping [Close] in the [Photos]/[Web] screen of Canon Mobile Printing, returns you to the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business screen.

       Setting the Default Email Destination  
      You can set the destination for emailing scanned data beforehand. You can also change the destination in the mailer when emailing.

NOTE
Depending on the set mail address, such as an incorrectly formatted mail address, it may not be displayed in the mailer as a destination.

1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.Tap [] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings].

3.Tap [Send To] → enter an address.

The set address is displayed in the [App Settings] screen - [Send To].
 
       
       Setting the Images Save Location  
      You can set the save location when saving data scanned in JPEG and TIFF format to a mobile terminal.

1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.Tap [] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings].

3.Tap [Save Image To] → select the save location → tap the icon to return to the previous screen.

The set address is displayed in the [App Settings] screen - [Save Image To].
 
       
       Setting the WebDAV Port  
      You can set the WebDAV port number used when scanning with an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device.
The default setting is "80".

1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.Tap [] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings].

3.Tap [WebDAV Port] → enter a port number → tap [Done] (if you are using an iPad, tap [Done] on the onscreen keyboard).


The set number is displayed in the [App Settings] screen - [WebDAV Port].
If you scan using the function of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE series, specify a host name in [Host Name] on the control panel of the device. Enter the host name in the following format, including the port number, according to the instructions displayed in the [Scan] screen.
If the IP address is "192.168.0.xxx" and the new port number is "8008":
http://192.168.0.xxx:8008/
 
       
       Setting an SNMP Community Name  
      You can set an SNMP community name. The default name is "public". This setting does not normally need to be changed.

1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.Tap [] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings].

3.Tap [SNMP Settings].

4.Enter an SNMP community name.

The set address is displayed in the [App Settings] screen - [SNMP Settings].
 
       
       Displaying Menu Tip  
      You can redisplay the operating instructions displayed in the home screen when you activate this app for the first time.

1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].

2.Tap [] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings].

3.Turn [Menu Tip] ON.

The operation guide will be displayed the next time the home screen is displayed.
 
       
       The Device Is Not Detected  
      Check the following.

NOTE
  • If the device is not detected even after you have confirmed the following, restart the mobile terminal. The device may be detected.
  • If the device is still not detected, consult your network administrator about the network environment.

Canon Device
  • Does the device you are using support Canon Mobile Scanning for Business? (→ "About Support Devices")
  • Are the scan functions of the device enabled?

Search Method
(→ "Selecting/Detecting the Device")
  • Can you discover the device from [Select Device] - [Manual Search]?
  • Depending on the network environment to which the mobile terminal is connected, the device might not be discovered by [Select Device] - [Auto Search]. If this happens, you need to do a manual search.
  • Can you discover the device when searching for devices manually by entering the FQDN (format including host name, subdomain name, and domain name)?
  • If the host name is "device01", the subdomain name is "aaa", and the domain name is "bbb.com": device01.aaa.bbb.com

Network Settings of the Mobile Terminal
  • Is [Settings] - [Wi-Fi] enabled on your mobile terminal?
  • Is an HTTP proxy set on your mobile terminal?
If an HTTP proxy is set in the Wi-Fi settings of the mobile terminal, you cannot connect to the device from this app. If this is the case, change the setting so that a proxy is not used, or specify an IP address or DNS name for the device as a host that does not use a proxy. For details, consult your network administrator.

Network Settings of the Canon Device
  • Is the SNMPv1 setting set to [On]?
  • Is the gateway address set correctly?
  • Is the subnet mask set correctly?
 
       
       Searching for a Device Takes Time  
      When you discover devices by the [Select Device] screen > [Auto Search], detected devices are listed as they are discovered. The device searching process normally takes about 10 seconds.

If you enter an IP address of an invalid DNS server in the Wi-Fi settings of the mobile terminal, a timeout occurs during the host name acquisition process, therefore the device searching process may take some time.
 
       
       How to Confirm the IP Address of the Device  
      You can confirm the IP address from the network settings screen of the device.
For details, refer to the manuals provided with the device.

NOTE
In the case of a device for which manager settings have been configured, you need to enter a password. For details, refer to the manuals that are provided with the device or contact your system administrator.
 
       
       What Port Numbers to Allow in a Firewall  
      Canon Mobile Scanning for Business uses the following port numbers.

80 (TCP) WSD
161 (UDP) SNMP
427 (UDP) SLP
8000 (TCP) REST
8080 (TCP) WebDAV
8443 (TCP) WSD, REST (HTTPS)

NOTE
You can also change the WebDAV port number. (→"Setting the WebDAV Port")
 
       
       Cannot Display the Remote UI from the Mobile Terminal  
     
  • Depending on the device, you might not be able to display the Remote UI from the mobile terminal. If this happens, check the status of the device at the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device.
  • If the Remote UI is displayed from the mobile terminal, you may not be able to use some functions such as file operations. If this happens, perform the operations from the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device.
 
       
       There Is an Incoming Telephone Call While Using This App  
      The mobile terminal OS supports multi-tasking, so this app operates in the background while the phone is in use. Depending on the OS specifications, scanning and previewing processes continue for the effective time period.
iOS 6.x: 9 and half minutes
iOS 7.x/8.x: 2 and half minutes

While Scanning
If the effective time is exceeded, the scanning process is canceled.

While a Preview is Being Created
If the effective time is exceeded, the preview process is temporarily suspended and resumed after the phone call is finished.

NOTE
In other cases than while scanning and creating a preview, the state prior to the phone call is maintained, and back to the screen of this app after the phone call is finished.
 
       
       Restrictions When Separating Files  
      When scanning a plurality of originals and outputting a JPEG format file, the scanned data will be separated into multiple files.

When scanning with an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device using the function, you can set the function at the device.

In these cases, perform the following operations.

Save/Email/Print
Save, email, or print only the file displayed in the preview screen. Perform operations on the required files one file at a time.

NOTE
* are displayed in the names of the files that you have not saved emailed, or printed.

File Preview
Tap [] or [] at the bottom of the preview screen to switch between and check file previews.
