Canon U.S.A. Demonstrates imageFORMULA Scanning Technologies At The 2011 Association For Financial Professionals Annual Conference

The Latest Scanners to Complement the Company's Growing Portfolio of Data Capture Solutions on Display at Canon Booth #1216

BOSTON, November 6, 2011 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will showcase its award-winning imageFORMULA solutions at the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) Annual Conference, November 6-9, 2011. The exhibit located in the Canon booth (#1216), at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, will include the recently announced imageFORMULA DR-M160 document scanner, a compact and powerful scanner ideal for financial institutions and corporate environments alike.

"Canon has made great strides in addressing the needs of treasury and finance professionals in any industry," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "At this year's show we are excited to demonstrate Canon's data capturing solutions that can help create efficient workflows, resulting in productive operations and reduced costs."

The Canon solutions on display during this year's show include:

  • imageFORMULA DR-M160 Document Scanner: The Canon DR-M160 scanner has excellent performance and convenience. Scanning up to 60 pages-per-minute (ppm)1 /120 images per minute (ipm)1, and holding up to 60 sheets in the automatic document feeder, it quickly and effectively captures and stores business information, scanning both sides of a document in a single pass. And with an intuitive control panel to pre-program scan tasks, the DR-M160 scanner adopts and simplifies higher-end scanning features into a compact and easy-to-implement package.
  • imageFORMULA DR-C125 Document Scanner: The Canon DR-C125 scanner makes converting and capturing paper-based documents to digital format a paper-saving option for businesses. Delivering color, black-and-white and gray-scale scan speeds at up to 25 ppm1 and 50 ipm, the DR-C125 scanner reliably handles a wide variety of document types, including Long Document Mode for documents up to 118 inches in length, for example media records such as account logs. The scanner also features user-selectable paper paths for scanning items such as thick documents, plastic ID cards, embossed cards, and driver licenses.
  • imageFORMULA P-150 "Scan-tini" Personal Document Scanner: The Canon P-150 scanner is ideal for use by "road warriors" and office workers for general-purpose distributed document scanning applications, as well as check scanning in remote deposit capture applications. Measuring 11 inches long, 3.7 inches wide, 1.6 inches high and weighing just over two pounds, the P-150 redefines the minimum dimensions of a document scanner with automatic document feeder. The P-150 can scan batches of up to 15 ppm and 30 ipm, yet still fits easily into a briefcase.
  • imageFORMULA CR-80 Compact Check Transport and Star Micronics FVP-10 Thermal Receipt Printer: The Canon CR-80 check transport is an easy-to-use, compact solution that is ideal for teller counters, merchant desks and other space-constrained environments. It can be used for moving paper checks and related small documents in front-counter settings, for merchant/remote deposit capture applications, and for low-volume remittance processing. The CR-80 feeds batches at scanning speeds of up to 80 cpm3. It delivers sharper images resulting in better Optical Character Recognition (OCR) through new features such as Fine Text Filtering. Also on display is the FVP-10 thermal receipt printer from Star Micronics. This printer, when combined with the CR-80 using the mounting platform accessory developed by Star Micronics, delivers a stable teller window/retail Point of Sale (POS) solution with a small footprint.
