• In 2009, to celebrate Earth Day, this office played the documentary film "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore. This film is about former United States Vice President Al Gore's campaign to educate citizens about global warming.
• The theme for Earth Day 2010 celebration was eWaste. As part of Canon Americas environmental charter, one of the goals is to increase the environmental awareness of Canon employees and encourage environmental protection initiatives on an individual level. The San Jose office provided employees with electronic waste recycling bins in the warehouse to deposit their old, broken or unused electronics from home for e-recycling. This initiative is in hope to encourage employees to recycle their future electric wastes in an environmentally friendly manner to minimize hazardous waste accumulation in our landfills.
• During the second half of 2010 the office is planning to participate in the California Coastal Cleanup to support and participate in communities environmental activities.
• In 2011 Earth Day was celebrated by offering a free E-Waste Recycle day in which employees brought in their old electronic equipment to recycle and an educational video on global warming was shown to employees.
