Earned it's keep
Now that I have had this printer for awhile and used it allot, I felt a longer term review was in order. First off, if you own this printer and are getting anything less than wonderful results there has to be a reason. You owe it to yourself to double check your settings and your setup. If that doesn't help contact Canon for some help. I have owned 4 different photo printers over the years and each and every one has it's little quirks that have to be worked out with trial and error. If your only interested in making "average " images this is probably not the printer for you. With a little adjustment you can get excellent results from this printer. As far as ink use goes I have to say this is the best photo printer I have used. And the cartridges are reasonably priced. Once again if your not willing to spend some money for ink to get excellent results, then you may be better off getting your pictures printed at a store. One thing I must say, is if you want a top shelf black and white printer look elsewhere. Other than that I have to give it 5 stars all around.

You're kidding right?
I've been a designer for nearly 20 years and this is the worst, most difficult to use printer I have ever found. Give me back my old clunky printers with LABELED controls, so I don't have to go back to the manual over and over.
If I could throw it out the window without killing someone I gladly would!!

Worst Canon Printer Ever!
Canon 9000 Mark II is horrible. Print quality is the worst of any Canon printer I have owned. It prints with blotches and bands. I have cleaned the head and cleaned the head and cleaned the head. Still prints with blotches and bands. Would not recommend this printer. Other Canon printers that cost way less give better quality.

Great printer
Totally satisfied with this printer. It seems to use a bit less ink than my last printer from another company. And the ink cartridges are some of the cheapest around. Stunning images.
