Enhanced AF Systems Tailored for Perfect Stills and Video.
Improved autofocus performance and new Hybrid CMOS AF
The EOS Rebel T4i is equipped with AF features that ensure speedy, accurate and continuous AF every time. When shooting through the viewfinder, the EOS Rebel T4i has improved autofocus with a new 9-point, all cross-type AF system (including high-precision dual-cross f/2.8 center point) for accurate focus whether the camera is oriented in portrait or landscape position. A new AI Servo AF system achieves and maintains consistent focus with an exceptional degree of reliability.
The EOS Rebel T4i features Canon’s amazing new Hybrid CMOS AF System, perfect for shooting photos and video in Live View. This new system combines two distinct AF technologies, phase and contrast detection AF, for speedier and more accurate focus. These complementary focusing systems are aided by pixels on the camera’s CMOS sensor that assist in predicting subject location; therefore making continuous focus tracking quick and accurate in video recording while enhancing focusing speed.

missing important feature
After purchasing camera I discovered it can not put "date taken' on the front of the picture. I am retired, take lots of long trips and hundreds of pics on each trip. My other camera applies 'date taken' to the front of my pics., I download them to my PC and when I view them the 'date taken' info is very helpful.
With the T4i, it downloads the pics to my PC without "date taken' on front of pic. After the download I must then use Canon ImageBrowser EX software to manually add "date taken" to each pic. This is a VERY time consuming task, can often take several hours.I
The Canon software developers seem to have dropped the ball, I am certain it would be simple to make this feature available.
When I use my T4i I ask myself "do I really want this pic, if I do then I know in advance I am going to be hunched over my PC using Canon Imagebrowser to complete a task that should have happened when I snapped the pic.

noise on the video
The lens makes way to much noise on the video.. It is so bad I will not take a video with it.. That is the only thing that I do not like about this camera..

Smart and fast
EOS 650D is smart, fast, and has a semi pro image quality. I use it as 1Ds mk2 cropping partner.

I Bought this camera after spending almost a month of researches.. I was amazed by the image quality and the continuos AF in video mode although it's not that much, but at least it has that option..
I wish Canon utilize the capabilities of the Digic 5 processor by increasing the number of continuos shooting and the buffer load.. Also the 60p in full 1080 would be a great option to add to this beauty..
After all I just love it for all the joy it brings to my life.. Thank you Canon
