The Canon EF600MMF4L IS USM lens is unbelievable. I wish I could upload just one image I have taken with it. Also I had the EF500MMF4L for 4 days and returned it for this lens. The only complaint is the draw string for the lens cap, which came apart, then the plastic adjuster broke. Also it is long enough that is interferes with the mounting shoe when the sun shade is in the reverse position. But it is one heck of a lens. Plus I'll have arms like Arnold by the end of the summer.

I bought this lens 6 years ago and have used it in several trips to Africa and other photo trips. In spite the fact I had dropped from top of a jeep down to the ground, exposed to rain, dust, vibration, and many, many trips, this lens is still as sharp as the first day I bought it. It is built like a tank. Many pictures taken with the 1.4 and 2.0 X extenders would look phenomenal as long as one knows how to get the best exposure and minimize vibration. No other lens would come even close at this focal range. It is worth every penny!

I have used this lens for wild life and it is very hard to take a bad shot with this lens. The IQ and size are royal. It is built like a tank (including size). It is pretty fast at AF of fast moving subjects. You need to plan ahead your shooting, since it is a heavy lens. Used with a 1.4TCON along a crop body and you have some reach.
