MELVILLE, N.Y., August 12, 2014 - Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced it will showcase its line of radiology offerings at the 2014 American Healthcare Radiology Administrators Exposition (AHRA) at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, DC, (Booth # 701), from August 11 - 13, 2014. Committed to applying its high-quality imaging technologies to helping healthcare professionals enhance the quality of care, increase productivity, and control costs, Canon will present a variety of digital radiography solutions designed to help healthcare professionals accelerate exams for a wide variety of patients and procedures and create more efficient workflows.
In addition to exhibiting its newest radiology solutions, Canon U.S.A. will celebrate another major milestone, as its parent company, Canon Inc., has reached 25,000 global unit sales of digital radiology (DR) detectors. This is another benchmark for the company, which entered the market in 1997 with the industry's first DR system, the CXDI-11 Digital Radiography Detector, and continues to be at the forefront of developing DR solutions.
"We recognize that our healthcare customers face increasing challenges to delivering quality, affordable patient care," said Tsuneo Imai, vice president and general manager, Healthcare Solutions Division, Business Imaging Solutions, Canon U.S.A., Inc. and president, Virtual Imaging, Inc. "RadPRO digital radiography solutions incorporating Canon leading-edge imaging technology are designed to deliver high-resolution imaging with a low X-ray dose to the patient and to support an efficient and customizable workflow for the imaging department. In addition, we strive to provide healthcare professionals solutions that offer flexibility and ease of use to help deliver patient-focused care."
"For example, the new RadPRO1 Delinia 200 Digital X-ray Acquisition Cart, which we are showing at AHRA as a work in process, provides an entirely new way for an organization to employ digital radiology technology. For organizations that have not made the transition from CR to DR because of cost and possible disruption to their normal operations, it provides a cost-effective way to acquire DR capability with minimal installation time. It will deliver high-quality imaging and can help accelerate exams by providing results within seconds, using the existing radiography room, without the need for cabling or special interfacing to perform exams with the latest Canon DR technology."
The Company will be displaying the CXDI-701C Wireless Digital Radiography (DR) System, the CXDI-801C Wireless DR System, and the new Canon CXDI-401C Wireless DR System, which provides a high level of versatility while providing high image quality and rapid results for large and small anatomical views. This technology is designed to help practitioners, accelerate exams and maintain productive workflows. These systems feature an X-ray Auto Detection mode, in which the wireless DR system can detect X-rays at exposure and shift to image acquisition mode automatically without the use of a typical generator interface, as well as additional customer-focused features such as enhanced liquid intrusion protection, battery charging in detector with the wired option,* and impact detection. These DR systems are:
Canon U.S.A. will also feature the new RadPRO OMNERA 400 Series Digital Radiographic Systems that have been designed to help healthcare professionals meet the challenges of demanding hospital imaging departments and help create an efficient workflow to increase patient throughput. The RadPRO OMNERA 400A Auto-Positioning Digital Radiographic System incorporates fully automatic motorized positioning and features automatic stitching, a tube-mounted 10 inch touch screen, a vertical wall stand and a table with extended range of motion. It will be outfitted with certain of Canon's portfolio of CXDI Digital Radiography detectors. Constructed of rugged crafted aircraft aluminum, the RadPRO OMNERA 400A System also provides the flexibility and ease of use helpful to deliver patient focused care.
The RadPRO OMNERA 400T Digital Radiographic System, like the RadPRO OMNERA 400A System, incorporates a lightweight, rugged construction with tube-mounted 10 inch touch screen and tight integration with certain Canon CXDI digital detectors, sold separately. The manual positioning System provides servo tracking to both the wall stand and table to provide precision positioning quickly and easily. These digital radiographic systems provide imaging departments two excellent options to help create an efficient and flexible workflow with advanced Canon imaging technology.
Other solutions to be shown:
Healthcare providers can maximize resources and simplify workflows through a comprehensive RadPRO mobile and portable radiology solution. With its compact and easy-to-maneuver design, the RadPRO 40kW Digital Mobile X-ray System provides the flexibility of a radiography room on wheels - to bring the radiography room to the patient and allow administrators to maximize office space by reducing the need to have dedicated rooms for specific procedures. The Enhanced Workflow Package helps complete routine tasks from bedside without having to access a HIS/RIS from a dedicated workstation.
As the industry continues facing tighter budgets and increased patient demands, Canon Digital Mobile Upgrade Kits can help maximize resources by providing a cost-effective solution that enhances existing radiography devices with the latest digital capabilities. Whether transforming one system or an entire fleet, these kits provide an affordable option for healthcare professionals interested in transitioning outdated existing systems into state-of-the-art systems. Once updated, these devices provide improved imaging capabilities, low-dose examinations and fast processing times.
