Impact of Flooding in Thailand on Inkjet Printers (as of December 7)
In response to the recent flooding in Thailand, and with the safety of our employees our utmost concern, from October 6 to late November, Canon halted operations at our two factories in Ayutthaya province, Thailand. These factories manufacture inkjet printers, flatbed scanners, inkjet printer-related products and inkjet printer paper.
As flooding has been gradually receding in this area, we are strongly focusing efforts on moving forward with clean-up work, and to upgrade our infrastructure. We currently anticipate resuming limited production in January, 2012. We also anticipate restarting the production of all product lines by late February, 2012.
Providing superior products and support to our customers is Canon's primary mission and we are working on minimizing impacts in the marketplace. However, depending on the timing, retail location and product, there will be some impact on availability of the products listed above.
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience our customers may experience, we appreciate your understanding, and we sincerely ask for your continued support.
