When printing your photos and scrapbook layouts with Canon inkjet printers, it is recommended that you to use genuine Canon inks and papers. Here’s why…
Canon inkjet printers are designed to produce the highest quality results when paired with Genuine Canon inks and papers. Canon offers a variety of photo papers designed to work well with all of the Canon inkjet photo printers. When regular uncoated paper is used for inkjet printing, the ink droplets canspread unevenly into the paper fibers, causing blurred text and images. Canon inkjet paper is specially formulated with an ink absorption layer on the surface of the paper to prevent the ink droplets from spreading unevenly. Third party resin-coated photo papers cannot absorb the ink droplets fast enough to support the high speed of Canon printers. Ink droplets become misshapen due to the slow absorption thus producing dull images and curling paper.
The combination of the FINE print head found in Canon inkjet printers and select genuine Canon inks and papers will increase the life of your photos. In 2005, Canon launched a new solution for improving the archival quality of inkjet prints. ChromaLife 100 prints provide up to 100 year fade resistance for photos stored in an album*, 30 year light fastness for photos displayed under glass away from intense light*, and improved resistance to heat and humidity**. ChromaLife 100 inks and papers are compatible with a variety of Canon printers. For more information and a demo of this technology click here>>
*Based on accelerated testing by Canon under controlled temperature, humidity, and gas conditions. For the 100 year figure, Canon simulated storage in an album with plastic sleeves. Fort he 30 year light fastness figure, Canon simulated display of a photo in a glass frame in an indoor location without direct sunlight or other high intensity light. Canon cannot guarantee the longevity of prints; results may vary depending on printed image, drying time, display/storage conditions and environmental factors. See www.usa.canon.com/Chromalife100 for additional details.
**Print samples are kept under controlled conditions of high temperature (30 Degrees Celsius) and high humidity (80% RH) for one week.
