The extended Device Types were developed by Canon Inc. to offer additional functionality such as staple, hole punch and output bin selection. Then the Device Type functionalities were combined and are available in one zip file as Standard Device Type available in Canon U.S.A websites.
Simply, extended Device Types are for older models and are still available on this website for download. These devices are listed in the Features section and in the SAP Supported Device List, available under Brochures & Manuals section.
